B/w, 10×8. In their 107th short, Fiddlers Three, in which the Stooges played musicians in the court of King Cole. MOE HOWARD (1897-1975) was Moeth, his brother SHEMP HOWARD (1895-1955) was Shempeth and LARRY FINE (1902-1975) was Larryeth. When they ask the King’s permission to marry their sweethearts, the King agrees, but only after Princess Alicia has married Prince Valiant. This news upsets Mergatroyd, an evil magician who plans to marry the Princess himself and rule the Kingdom. Mergatroyd abducts the Princess, and it’s up to the Stooges to foil his plans and expose his evil doings. Moe, Larry and Shemp were the original three Stooges. When Shemp left the act in 1930 to go it alone in films without the Stooges, he was replaced by his brother Jerry Howard who became known as Curly. In 1946, Curly suffered a stroke and retired, so Shemp returned, remaining with the Stooges until his death in 1955. Lightly surface creased.
