Moto Z Play to receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat update soon, confirms Motorola - India Today


Launched last December, Moto Z Play was initially packed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However later, back in January this year Moto Z Play received Android 7.0 Nougat update, bringing several upgrades and improvements onboard. Well, as per the new report from Motorola itself, the smartphone is soon expected to receive the latest software update - Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This is no rumour or speculations as Motorola confirms the news.

GSM arena is the first one to report about the software update. The report states that Motorola confirmed the coming of the Android 7.1.1 Nougat during a chat session, reports GSM arena. However, the company didn't confirm on when the software update will officially roll out.

To recall, Motorola rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to several countries including India, Brazil, Canada, and also US. This means, there are high chances that these countries will also probably be the first ones to receive the upcoming Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

With the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, the Moto Z Play is expected to receive several new features and upgrades. This being said, Moto Z Play will be the first Motorola device to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Announced last year, Moto Z Play gained tremendous success soon after in a very short span. In terms of specifications, the Motorola smartphone sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED statement with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolutions. Further, the Moto Z Play display comes coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 and packs 3GB of RAM coupled with 32G B of an internal storage unit. The storage space can be further expanded up to 256GB via an external microSD card. On the camera front, the device features a 16-megapixel camera at the rear panel which comes coupled with features like - phase detection, laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and auto-HDR. While on the front, the smartphone fits a 5-megapixel selfie snapper paired with LED flash.

Connectivity wise, the Moto Z Play comes with several options like - Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0 and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. The smartphone is backed by a non-removable Li-Ion 3510 mAh battery, which comes packed with a fast charging ability. Moto Z Play was announced in several colour variants like black, silver, black slate, white, fine gold, and sugar white.
