LG G6 with Quad DAC no longer Korea exclusive, will come to Australia later this week

Good news for fans of high quality audio: the Quad DAC LG G6 edition will no longer be limited to Korea only. Well, good news for fans of high quality audio in Australia, at least, as this appears to be the only confirmed non-Korea region to receive this version of the device so far.

The news comes from Ausdroid, who reports that the Hi-Fi edition of the G6 will be sold in a couple of Australian retailers: JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman. The device will be sold for AU$1,199, which is $900 in US currency. That is AU$191 more than the regular device's price, making this version of the G6 quite a bit more expensive, and as a result putting it in the niche device category.

But this price is somewhat justified, as it's not just the DAC that's an upgrade: this version of the G6 also offers double the storage at 64 GB, as well as dual-SIM capabilities. It is also the only way Australians can buy the phone from within the country, as the G6 has been, up until now, a Telstra exclusive.

The Quad DAC-equipped G6 will be available for purchase this Thursday, April 13. While we're sad LG isn't launching it in more territories as well, this is still good news, as it shows there's a chance more countries could get access to this edition of the phone some in the fut ure.
