OnePlus is pushing a new OxygenOS 4.1.0 software update over-the-air for the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. The new OxygenOS 4.1.0 bumps the phone software to Android 7.1.1 Nougat version. Except for the new build and a few camera-related tweaks, the OTA doesn't offer any standout features, but there's still a lot of stuff to be excited about.
OnePlus has been very active with software updates in recent times, and OxygenOS 4.1.0 brings the March 1 security update along with a new expanded screenshot feature for the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. The feature allows you to take a screenshot of an entire webpage or a long document instead of taking multiple screenshots.
The camera app has also picked up a few tweaks, including improved stability when recording videos, as well as blur reduction for still images.
Here's a list of what's new, according to the changelog:
- Upgraded Android 7.1.1
- Updated Google security patch to 1st March 2017
- Added expanded screenshots
- Improved picture taking of moving objects with blur reduction
- Improved video stability when recording
- Improved WiFi connectivity
- Improved bluetooth connectivity
- General bug fixes
The update also addresses the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity issues. The OxygenOS 4.1.0 update is rolling out to a small fraction of users across the globe right now.
Right now, we recommend you to be patient and wait for the OTA notification. Using VPN to force-fetch it on your OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 — like the Nougat update from December — doesn't work (we tried).
