LeEco, a Chinese technology and entertainment company whose products are also sold in America, is working on a new smartphone, reportedly named the Le X850. Scheduled for announcement on April 11, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and feature a 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution. The metal-bodied handset will have 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with up to 128GB of integrated storage and its price starting at $260 (1,799 CNY) in China. If LeEco decides to bring the Le X850 to the US, the price will probably climb higher, though not by much – selling devices at cost is a bi g part of the company's business model. However, it's not known if LeEco plans on introducing this model to the American market.
What else is on offer? Oh, there's a 13MP dual rear camera and a whopping 16MP front cam for selfies you can print in billboard-size. The built-in memory is of the fast UFS 2.0 kind, and the phone is powered by a sizable 4000mAh battery.
Shots of the Le X850's front and back have been snagged from the Chinese telecom regulator TENAA and published above. It looks like the typical LeEco phone with a simple, symmetrical design, trim screen bezels, and a brushed metal body. If you think the company's design is getting stale (well, it is!), worry not, as LeEco is working on a high-end phone with a curved display. It's probably another one of the flagship devices that's getting delayed until the second part of the year, waiting for a supply of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Two "creep shots" of it can be seen below.
