Unlike the previous model that was only available in limited quantity, TRI claims the Appassionato is world's first mass-produced Liquidmorphium smartphone. However, this time, TRI has partnered with Chinese company TCL for the release of its new Turing Phone.
The Appassionato will come with some sort of dedicated improved concierge service called "amplified intelligence." It's a process by which machine intelligence (AI) is used to replace and/or supplement human intelligence in making decisions and choices.
In theory, this seems very bold, but in practice, it might not be as impressive as it sounds. Apparently, this is the first concierge service of this kind, and it's expected to provide Appassionato users with a personal, intelligent experience.
Unfortunately, the Appassionato doesn't really make a good impression when it comes to spec. The phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Aside fr om that, details about the new Turing Phone are pretty scarce, though we do know that it will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat on board, unlike the previous model that runs Sailfish OS.
Design-wise, the handset will be built of Liquidmorphium, but it will also feature diamond-like-carbon coating (DLC), which should provide a high-tech ceramic feel and scratch resistant surface.
TRI announced that the Turing Phone Appassionato would be available in two variant by September: the elite edition Turing Phone Appassionato PX8 ($1,099) and the premium-luxury edition Turing Phone Appassionato GX8 ($1,599).
