LG to rollout Android Nougat 7.0 update for G4 and V10 smartphones - India.com


LG has launched its latest flagship LG G6, at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona this year and its V20 smartphone has created quite a roar as well. While LG G6 has a lot of 'first ever' on board, V20 has been one of the trendsetter device by the company. However, with the new beefed up variants already in place, company still has support on their predecessor.

LG will update two of its smartphone models – G4 and V10. The South Korean electronic giant is said to soon roll out latest operating system update for both the phones. This means a OS update based on Android Nougat 7.0  is likely for the V10 and G4. According to Yonhap news agency report, G4 is expected to get Android Nougat OS update in the second half of this year, G4 could get it in the third quarter.

However, this scheduled update applies the two LG smartphones sold in South Korea. LG G4 and LG V10 global customers would be notified of a separate roll out later.

LG G4 debuted in April 2015 and had its OS updated twice, latest one being the Android Marshmallow 6.0. While, the LG V10 released in October 2016, also has had its OS updated twice. LG had earlier announced to discontinue support on the two smartphone including OS updates, citing the two phones are not optimized for Android Nougat OS.

LG G6, launched at MWC 2017, grabbed eyeballs (literally) with its 18:9 Univisium aspect ratio, becoming world's first smartphone to have so. The 18:9 aspect ration on LG G6 boasts a FullVision display complemented by a DolbyVision cinematic viewing experience. The latest LG flagship also has Google Assistant on board, based on AI, it provides better search results with user-based learning recommendations. The Google Assistant on LG G6, activates by saying 'OK Google' or long press the home button and  comes with language support for English and German, presently.
