NEW DELHI: India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has started online bookings for its upcoming performance hatchback Baleno RS from today onwards. To be launched on March 3, the car can be booked with an amount of Rs 11,000.
Baleno RS is going to be the second launch of Maruti Suzuki India in 2017 after Ignis, and the second RS variant by the company after Ciaz RS which was launched in October 20 15.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is going to be launched only in the Alpha variant, and as confirmed by dealers in North India the car is already having a waiting period of three months.

The reason behind this waiting period has been attributed to previous product backlogs. However, the starting of Gujarat plant is likely to shorten the waiting time for Baleno variants.
The hatch will get a 1.0L booster jet engine which is likely to churn out 100 hp of power and 150 Nm of maximum torque mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox as a standard offering.
Baleno RS will compete with the likes of Fiat Punto Abarth and Volkswagen Polo GTI, and is likely to be available in seven exterior colours - Ray Blue, Autumn Orange, Fire Red, Pearl Arctic, Premium Silver, Granite Gray and Premium Urban Blue.
