Huawei P10 gets FCC clearance for North America; feds confirm 3100mAh battery is inside

The Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus are both supposed to be unveiled on February 26th at MWC in Barcelona. Increasing the probability that at least one of the new handsets will be offered in North America is the FCC certification of the P10. The documentation reveals that the handset sporting the VTR-L29 model number is good to go in the U.S. and Canada. The Huawei P10 is believed to feature a 5.5-inch display carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. The home-grown Kirin 960 chipset is reportedly on boa rd carrying an octa-core CPU and the Mali-G71 GPU. 4GB/6GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB, 64GB, 128GB of native storage.

If you're into photography, you will be happy to hear about the dual 12MP Leica cameras found on the back of the handset. Handling video chats and selfies will be the 8MP front-facing camera. A fingerprint scanner, embedded in a button found on the front of the handset, will verify your identity and quickly unlock the unit. Android 7.0 will be pre-installed. The FCC says that a 3100mAh battery will be placed inside the Huawei P9, and the unit will have dual SIM support. According to a previous leak, the only difference between the P10 and the P10 Plus is that the former comes with a flat screen and the latter offers a dual-edged display.

Huawei, which is the third largest smartphone manufacturer on the planet, sold 9 million units of the Huawei P9 globally as of last November. That phone was released last April 6th. We would imagine that Huawei has more ambitious plans for the P10 and P10 Plus.
